Retreats
Residential Retreats Going on retreat is a great way to deepen our experience of meditation and mindfulness away from everyday habits and preoccupations. Activities usually include meditation and study as well as plenty of space to enjoy nature, reflect, and enjoy the company of others. Weekend retreats cost $150 (100 unwaged).
24 ~ 26 September
- Awakening to the Dream
A study retreat led by Dharmachari Purna Sigmund
Freud once described dreams as the "royal road to the
unconscious" and most of us will have some familiarity with their
effectiveness as a means of self-knowledge. What is perhaps less well
known is the Buddhist use of dreams as a method of Dharma practice and for
developing a subtle level of awareness that may persist not only through
the dream state but even through deep sleep. "May
the blending of the practising of the sleep state and actual waking
experience be highly valued by me" (from the root verses of the
Tibetan Book of the Dead) Waihoanga Centre, Otaki Forks
